By the end of 1950s, the invention of gas chromatography (GC) and its widespread application to soil science significantly improved the ability to measure CO2(Smith,1982;Castro,1994).
Materials and methods An overview of the method The method quantifies CO2 based on the principles of convection and diffusion of gas between soil and atmosphere.

Its excellent physical properties are: wide band gap, refractive index, high transmittance of ZnS quantum dots which make it widely applied in electric induced luminescence, nonlinear optical devices, light-emitting diodes, field effect transistors, dielectric filter, dyes, photo catalysis, sensors, and laser, especially in the manufacture of high efficiency solar cell materials[1,2,3].
Semiconductor quantum dot materials have been widely used in optics; electricity; medicine and other fields because of its large optical nonlinearity and fast time response characteristics[4,5,6].

Due to the high atomic number of its elements (ZPb =82, ZI =53), it is a material with potential use as an ionizing radiation detector (X and γ rays) [3-5].
Lead iodide polycrystalline undoped samples with and without annealing are prepared from this material.
