Introduction Efficient thermal management continues to be a critical challenge in a wide range of engineering applications, including electronic cooling systems, automotive engines, and energy systems.
Numerical Simulation Using Nastran /Patran NASTRAN is a high-performance finite element solver widely used for advanced structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses, while PATRAN provides a powerful and intuitive graphical interface for model construction, parameter definition, and results visualization.
Moreover, the combined NASTRAN–PATRAN workflow offers engineers deeper insight into complex physical behaviors and system-level interactions, ultimately supporting the design of safer, more reliable, and higher-performance products.

Introduction Magnesium (Mg) and its alloys have so far been considered as potential materials for engineering and biomedical applications owing to their high specific strength and biodegradable properties [1, 2] However, the applications of these materials are often constrained by their high degradation rates, which can lead to rapid reduction of their strength [3].
In addition, a contact stylus profilometer (Surfcom 120A, Advanced Metrology System, UK) was used to determine the arithmetic medium value (Ra) of the specimen surface prior to and after the SMAT.
