Most material remove methods such as hole drilling, layer removal, and slotting method remove a certain amount of material [3].
To minimize the amount of material to be removed, in this paper, the optimum depth and position of slot are investigated.
The optimal depth of slots for measuring actual stress is presented to minimize the amount of material to be removed.
