Abstract.
However, it is not always cost effective especially for large-scale civil infrastructures where a huge amount of piles is often employed.
Consequently, for the practical application in civil engineering construction, the field test is still a common way for the determination of the pile capacity especially for the important large-scale infrastructures.
The full-scale test on the same location also provides a reference index to an engineer for the evaluation of ultimate bearing capacity of a single pile.
Assessment of direct CPT and CPTU methods for predicting the ultimate bearing capacity of single piles, Engineering Geology, 2009, 104(3-4), 211-222
