New materials and gowns are being developed, fitting the level of the barrier function with the comfort issues and therefore the selection of the most suitable gown is vital.
Three types of surgical gowns were studied: • Single-use simple gown - Fig.1a • Single-use reinforced gown - Fig.1b • Reusable gown - Fig.1c Fig. 1 a) Single-use simple gown; b) Single-use reinforced gown; c) Reusable gown Tested Materials.
The material used for the reinforcement at the forearms is from the same material as the rest of the gown, but with a higher mass per surface area (75 g/m2).

The material in consideration is a well-known and well-studied alloy, particularly in terms of the possibilities for using it in thermal treatment processes.

When considering their possible applications, the fatigue resistance of photochromic materials has been considered.
Materials and Methods Woven fabric, a blend of polyester and cotton 65:35, was printed with Photopia Purple Ink (Matsui) of a concentration of 100 g.kg-1 using a screen printing technique. 
A standard method of fatigue resistance test of photochromic materials is based on a relatively high number of necessary cycles that cause a 50% decrease of initial shade intensity/optical density.
