Younesi et al. [8] suggested that the extent of reaction is determined by the reaction rate rather than by the equilibrium thermodynamics.
Shen et al. [12] found that the kinetic model of cementation of Cd2+ by zinc will lead to better designs on an industrial scale.

SiCp/Al composites have been used in a number of engineering applications including the consumer goods.
SiCp/Al composites are very difficult to machining because of the hard particles in the Al alloy matrix.
But up to now little research work has been done on researching the drilling properties of SiCp/Al composites, especially for the high volume fraction and large particle size SiCp/Al composites.

Shen et al. [4] investigated the wear characteristics of the diamond wheel during UAG of the alumina ceramic.
Fang et al. [7] stated that rotary ultrasonic machining had less tool wear during the side milling of K9 optical glass.
Dahnel et al. [11] concluded that ultrasonic assisted drilling of CFRP and titanium alloys resulted in less tool wear rate compared to conventional drilling.

The ARB experiments were performed for pure Al and Al alloys-sheets in order to validate the computer simulation results concerning the grain boundary stability of textured materials.
This bifurcation was observed by Eichelkraut at el. [4] in their statistical simulation.
