Failure in quasi-brittle materials, such as concrete and rock, usually develops in a fracture process zone (FPZ), in which dissipative processes takes place.
The total strain energy stored within a specimen of quasi-brittle materials will scale with its size; however, the amount of dissipated energy does not depend on the specimen size but only on the width of the FPZ.
It is essential for a cohesive model to take the frictional dissipation into account as about 50% -75% of the total energy budget in failure process of quasi-brittle materials is dissipated due to friction [10].

Introduction As one of the most important semiconductor materials, ZnTe has a direct band gap of 2.26 eV at room temperature.
As one of the important doping materials for group II-VI semiconductors, many significant research efforts about Cu doped ZnTe films as back electrode materials are reported [7, 8].
