Introduction Quasicrystals are extremely brittle at room temperature [1,2] and their mechanical properties similar to intermetallic compounds and ceramic materials [3].
At present, the quasicrystal materials are used as surface modification materials or the raw reinforce particles to evenly disperse in metal matrix composites [5-10].

A novel electrochemical sensor for formaldehyde based on Platinum nanoparticle / L-alanine modified glassy carbon electrode He Jia-Hong , Xu Qiang, Song Zhong-Rong* Materials and chemical Engineering College, Chongqing University of Arts and sciences, Yongchuan email: 20110901036@cqu.edu.cn Keywords: Platinum nanoparticles; L-alanine; Formaldehyde; Sensor; Determination.
Introduction In recent years,Formaldehyde is, on the one hand, an important chemical, which has been widely applied in the manufacture of building materials and numerous household products.
To overcome these limitations and achieve widespread routine use, fast and sensitive monitors of chemical and biological materials are required.

It was found that the light-emitting materials based on silicate matrix had the characteristics of chemical, thermal and radiation stability, simple synthesis, a wide excitation spectrum and easier to change emission spectra by fine-tuning the doping rare earth ions, so the light-emitting materials based on silicate matrix becomes the focus of studying white LED phosphors [3].
Manganese acetate (Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O), barium nitrate (Ba(NO3)2), magnesium nitrate (Mg(NO3)2·6H2O) and europium nitrate (Eu(NO3)3·6H2O) with purity of 99.9% were used as the starting materials and dissolved in deionized water by the molar ratios (Solution B).
But in some materials, Eu2+ (or Ce3+) to Mn2+ non-radiative energy transfer occurred, which sensitized Mn2+ to light.

In fact, the Rietveld analysis of an obtained diffraction pattern has been applied in many applications, for example, the studies of chemical-bonds in the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) materials [3], Lithium-ion diffusion in the Li3PO4 solid electrolyte materials [4], and the presence of apical oxygen in the T-type superconducting cuprates [5-7].
