The data obtained from the simulation were subsequently compared with the results of certification tests provided by the Start-Stop system manufacturers.
Based on the registered 6.5 million trips, an average reduction in fuel consumption has been calculated, which directly gives the reduction in CO2 emissions of around 4%.
Statistical data derived from regular use of vehicles equipped with Start-Stop system (Fig. 11) show much less positive results but they are calculated for average operating conditions of vehicles operating in urban center and beyond.
