Experimental Study on Bond Behavior between CFRP Sheet and Wood Qifang Xie1,a, Jianyang Xue1,b, Hongtie Zhao1,c, Junfang Hu2,d 1School of Civil Engineering, Xi’an University of Architecture & Technology, Xi’an, China 2Xi’an Changqing Technology & Engineering Company Limited, Xi’an, China axieqfgh@xauat.edu.cn, bjianyang_xue@163.com, czhaohongtie@hotmail.com, djunfanghu@sina.com Keywords: bond behavior; CFRP sheet; wood; strain distribution Abstract: Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) has been applied to reinforce wood structure with its many advantages.
But results of experimental study and engineering practice have showed that the failure is generally caused for lack of bong strength between FRP and wood, so the bond behavior between FRP and wood is very important.
Introduction Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) has been widely applied in civil engineering with its light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and many other advantages, but mainly in the reinforcement of concrete structure.
To the wood structure strengthened with FRP, results of experimental study and engineering practice have showed that the failure is generally caused for lack of bong strength between FRP and wood.
