The key aspect of MEPS is that the volume of elution solvent is of a suitable order of magnitude to be injected into GC or LC systems.
Most current MEPS applications involve on-line connection with LC rather than GC since with the automated procedure it is not easy to dry the SPE material before elution, and small amounts of water get injected to the GC instrument.
