Abstract: Residual thrust method is an original method for slope stability analysis in China.
It is widely used in industrial and civil construction as well as the ministry of railways of China, especially in the analysis and treatment of slope stability of the landslide.
Introduction Slope stability has always been a very important study of geotechnical engineering. There are many slope stability analysis methods, but at present there are two main ways that are usually used: one is called limit equilibrium method which is widely used in engineering design.
It meant that properly considering the influence of seepage on stability of slope, could be more responsive to engineering reality.
Conclusions 1) Residual thrust method is a calculation method of landslide thrust with Chinese characteristics and it has been widely used in landslide control project, and has accumulated rich experience in engineering.
