Introduction Plasma arc cutting process, in which a transferred arc burning between an electrode and a workpiece cuts off base metal by the dual effects of melting and vaporizing, is a thermal cutting method mainly suitable for metallic materials.
This means of cutting has recently found growing applications in manufacturing industries, due to its unique advantages, such as fast cutting speed, heavy cutting capacity, being capable of cutting various materials and a narrower cut in addition to lower cost [1].
