The molten materials were poured at 650 ºC (Al 10 Si) and 670 ºC (Al 0.8 Mn, 0.4 Si, 0.5 Fe, 0.1 Mg) on a cooling slope specially designed to obtain a semisolid material.
As previously discussed, these structures that form during strip casting from semi-solid materials are not usually found in ingots.

Furthermore, because PLA is significantly denser than other service polymeric materials (ex.
Therefore applications prefer polymer-composite materials over pure polymer.
Reinforced composite materials utilize silica-based fibers to enhance mechanical performance [8].
Mechanical Characterization American Society for Testing and Materials was used to test the material, the ASTM code is identified by D 638.

In this work, the processing of α-Al2O3 ceramics is studied in order to attain the microstructure and mechanical and thermal properties suitable for its application as a special refractory material in sintering furnaces.
Introduction The main refractory set of propellant furnace high temperature tunnel is the bottom with side guides, having the role of allowing the sliding and of guiding the material to be sintered, work in critical conditions, at temperatures of 1750 °C and humidified atmosphere of hydrogen.
Materials and Methods Processing. α-Al2O3 commercial powder (CT3000SG) from ALMATIS with average particle size of 0.4 µm and purity of 99.8% was used as raw material for monolithic ceramic development.
From this temperature up to 1350 ºC, where shrinkage process finished, there was a material densification, which afterwards, restarted to expand with the same thermal expansion coefficient of 9.0 x 10-6 ºC-1 until the end of test at 1500 ºC.

Finite element model A three dimensional finite element model was created in PATRAN, using solid brick and wedge elements with orthotropic material properties for the composite open-end cylindrical laminated shell and the repair patch, with a stacking sequence of [45/-45/0/90]s, and isotropic properties for the adhesive, as in Fig.2 shown.
The material data are given in Table 2.
