One of the ferrite spinel materials is nickel ferrite, with the chemical formula NiFe2O4, this material is a typical soft ferromagnetic material, which crystallizes in inverse spinel structure with all the nickel ions located at the B site and the iron at both the A and B sites [5].

Inhomogeneous construction materials such as concrete, stone or masonry require the use of long-gauge sensors to measure strain, since local sensors can provide erroneous data due to local material changes.
This contribution briefly introduces fiber optic and MEMS sensing technologies and will than illustrate their application to structural health monitoring through several examples, including the new I35W bridge in Minneapolis USA, the Ile d’Orléans suspension Bridge in Québec Canada and the shaking-table test of a full-scale masonry building reinforced with composite materials.
The use of the SOFO long-gauge sensors can provide parameters directly related to structural behavior such as curvature or deformation, parameters that are not influenced by local material defects in inhomogeneous material such as concrete or masonry.

Vacuum deposited indium tin oxide, ITO, is the material of choice for producing the transparent conducting electrodes used in a wide variety of electro-optic applications, including flat panel displays and solar cells.
Because the cracks are much smaller than the thickness of the active PDLC material they are not visible.

Zhang Wei et al [9] deduced a material removing function of bonnet polishing precession motion based on Preston equation.
In order to find the effect of radius of curvature on polishing quality, a sphere of the same material as the ellipsoid, as shown in Fig. 16, was polished under the condition of constant applied load.
