Abstract.
Theoretical assumptions as well as practical applications of FEM in the engineering practice were mentioned by Zienkiewicz and Taylor [2].
- The effect of the friction (one-directional bond) on the foundation deformations is relatively small and in the practical engineering calculations may be disregarded.

The failure of the sidewalls of excavations in rock has been an area of extensive research in rock mechanics as it affects the major problems of borehole breakout in the rock engineering and the stability of tunnel sidewalls (Brady and Brown 1993).

These are the foundations of oil and gas offshore structures, industrial and civil buildings, airports, and street paving, the bottoms of locks and dry docks, waterworks boards.
The cost of the foundations of modern industrial and civil buildings amounts to 10-12 percent of the cost of the entire structure.

Abstract.
As the demand for civil flywheel battery, isotropic metal materials have also been considered into the design and manufacture of the flywheel rotor.
There are several materials have high ratio of σ/ρ, such as high-strength aluminum alloy, spring steel and cast steel, which are proper for manufacturing isotropic flywheel rotor for civil flywheel battery.
