Introduction Titanium alloys are frequently used as dental and orthopaedic implant materials because of their excellent mechanical properties, chemical stability and biocompatibility.
Materials and Methods Samples were Ti6Al4V cylinders of 10 mm long and 5 mm diameter with CaP coatings of two different thicknesses (100 and 50 nm) and their references without coating.
Three types of materials were implanted: a) as-machined Ti6Al4V cylinders, b) laser macrostructured and coated with 50 nm CaP cylinders and c) laser macrostructured and coated with 100 nm CaP cylinders.

Introduction Barium titanate, BaTiO3, based materials are well known electroceramics that find applications as dielectric materials in capacitors and as positive temperature coefficient of resistance (PTCR) thermistors. 1-3 At temperature above 130°C, barium titanate has a paraelectric cubic phase.
Most research to date has focused on materials based on the ferroelectric tetragonal polymorph, t-BaTiO3, due to its high permittivity and because its electrical properties can be tailored to exhibit the PTCR effect.
Raw materials BaCO3 (Fluka,99.0% purity), TiO2 (Riedel-de Haën, 99.0% purity) and MnO2 (Sigma-ALDRICH, Inc., 99.999%) were mixed and vibro-milled in ethyl alcohol for 1 hour and then oven dried overnight at 120 °C.

Introduction As lightweight structural materials with a good combination of mechanical properties, cast ability and low-cost, aluminium alloys have been applied extensively in the field of microelectronic, automotive and aerospace industries [1-3].
In order to obtain Helmholtz free energy and then study the thermal properties of materials, Phonon frequencies of Al3Zr is calculated along high-symmetry directions in the Brillouin zone.
In the multi-phase polycrystalline alloys, the thermal expansion coefficient plays an important role for structure and properties of alloy materials.
