Investigation and analysis on seismic damage of historic timber structures caused by Wenchuan Earthquake in Zhaohua Ancient City Lu Cheng1, a, Hongtao Liu1, Xiaowei Zhu1 and Bin Jia1 1Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Mianyang, 621010, Sichuan, China aminervachan@yahoo.cn Keywords: Zhaohua Ancient City; Historic timber structures; Seismic damage Abstract.
Due to the different material properties of timber frame and retaining wall, if they are not properly connected, in the earthquake, they can not work cooperatively, which will result in the severe damage at the corner where the pillar and the wall are joined, as is shown in Fig. 10.

However, to obtain higher Jc is a challenging task whereby the substitution studies are needed in order to improve the critical current density of superconductor material.

Introduction With the development of the science and technology, the KDP single crystal plays a very important role in many types of key equipments, especially in the ICF( solid laser actuators and intense laser weapons.
More and more materials of KDP crystal are removed in brittle mode when the depth of cut increases gradually.
As shown in Fig. 9, when the cutting speed is less than 700m/min surface roughness increases with the cutting speed, because KDP crystal is soft and brittle material, and some built-ups will adherence on the rake face with the cutting speed increasing.
Acknowledgments lly acknowledge both the National Natural Science Foundation of China Fig.10 AFM surface roughness analysis of KDP crystal Fig.11 Varation of the cutting force during machining the KDP crystal The authors gratefu (50405011) and the Natural Science Foundation of Heilongjiang Province (E2004-26) for their financial supports of this work.

It was assumed in the article that ship’s bulkheads were composed of three kinds of insulation materials.
The material properties and thickness for each layer keep constant, as shown in Table 2.

Materials and Methods 2.1 Substrate Collection, Processing and Characterization Four different types of substrates were employed for this study.
After collection, the substrates, especially KW, were sorted to remove non-biodegradable materials such as stones, nylon and bones.
Cow dung contains fibrous materials which require longer time for the communities of microorganisms to degrade, and in effect, longer time for biogas production to cease.
Kitchen wastes (KW) may have an imbalance of carbon-rich and nitrogen-rich materials due to the presence of oils, fats, or toxic compounds, that can inhibit microbial growth.
