Therefore, the development of new metal alloys for the adhesion of diamonds based on the introduction of niobium (Nb), aiming at the substitution of Co in Fe-Cu alloys, in the direct use in cutting tools of the ornamental and civil construction sector, is relevance in the scientific area.
The lower value of the alloys with 35 and 45% Nb, regarding relative density, indicates the occurrence of porosity during sintering.
This was not successful for these alloys of 35% Nb and 45% Nb.
On the other hand, the formation of solid solutions of Fe-Nb type in the alloys based on Nb and CoFe in the NEXT 100 alloy contributes to increase the hardness of the material.

Fragmentation of batteries was done aiming at to evaluate the efficiency of the liberation of
different components, namely scrap and electrodes.
Recycling is undoubtedly the best option for spent batteries treatment, due to economical, technical and environmental reasons, but becomes difficult due to the complexity of the assembling designs and the large variety of sizes, shapes and constituting materials - metals, alloys, metal oxides and salts, plastics.
Mono type saline and alkaline batteries were characterized aiming at the determination of the mass balance of the constituting materials (Table 3).
The electrodes containing zinc and manganese compounds constitute the major fraction (more than 70%) of batteries weight, being therefore considered as high-grade metal concentrate, with a potential deleterious effect on the environment but also with possible economic value.

This study aimed to study the microwave loss in nanosized particles GdIG synthesized using the mechanical alloying technique in order to discover on how the microstructure would affect the microwave properties.
Mechanical alloying leads to agglomeration between the particles due to high reactivity of large surface area besides the contribution from cold welding and alloying effect.
