Contact Pressure Research of Drill Pipe and Packer of Rotating Blowout Preventer

Article Preview

Abstract:

The contact pressure of packer of rotary blowout preventer (BOP) act on drill pipe is closely related to the life and performance of rubber core. According to the actual working condition of the drill pipe and connector passing through the packer in the process of drilling, this paper establishes a three-dimensional mechanics model for sealed drill pipe of packer with ABAQUS finite element software , it simulates the characteristics of contact pressure changing while the drill pipe and drill pipe joints went through the hole of the packer, and obtained the location and the distribution rule of the maximum contact pressure of drill pipe packer at a certain wellhead pressure, and also studied the different packer materials and movement characteristics of drill pipe, and mastered the influence disciplinarian of the friction coefficient between the packer and drill pipe that act for the packer’s contact pressure.
