Fracture Analysis of the Spiral Ribbed Pre-Stressed Steel Wire during Pre-Stretching

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to analyze the case of the spiral ribbed pre-stressed steel wire failure during pre-stretching, OM, SEM and EPMA was used to do the inspection and analysis of the fracture sample. The result show that the crack propagation during pre-stretching of the wire bring on the fracture, which is cased by the net carbide and phosphorus segregation in the center of the raw material 82B rod in the drawing process.
