Abstract: With the progressive proceeding of energy pipeline construction, long-distance petroleum and natural gas transmission pipelines were designed to pass through the mountain area of Midwest China, part of them have been threatened by severe landslide hazard. Therefore, the effective control scheme for the exiting pipelines across landslide area has been increasingly interested. A typical landslide in Western China area was taken as an example, from which the interaction model of landslide and pipeline was performed. On the base of the landslide characteristics analysis and numerical modeling, two kinds of typical control schemes, including anti-sliding piles and anchors supporting, were presented to carry out a comparative analysis and evaluation for landslide control. The results show that the scheme involving anti-sliding pile is the better scheme, whose cost and technical requirement are lower than that of anchors supporting scheme in the aspects of cost and the feasibility of construction. This study can provide a scientific basis for the optimal control scheme determination for the landslides with pipeline underground crossing in Western China.

Abstract: Our country is one of the countries that with serious geological disasters, every year we loss nearly twenty billion yuan and hundreds of people dead because of it.How to liberate deformation monitoring from the traditional way by means of modern Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) is the responsibility of each technical workers. In this paper, we mainly introduce the recent fast-developed advanced InSAR technology -- Persistent Scatterers for SAR Interfero try PS InSAR and its application on Shuping landslide in the Three Gorges reservoir area .

Abstract: This paper analyzes the main safety and security problems of the mountainous rural roads. According to the characteristics of the mountains rural roads, traffic conditions and road environment, learned from domestic and international research and engineering experience, following the principles about safety, economy, environmental protection, and easy-maintenance, research for the security facilities suitable for rural road design.

Abstract: Based on nonlinear finite element theory, the spatial nonlinear FE model is proposed by link elements, shell elements and spatial beam elements. The different nonlinear behavior of composite girder cable-stayed bridge is analyzed under dead load in completion stage. The nonlinear analysis involves cable sag, large displacement and beam-column for composite girder cable-stayed bridge with three towers. The various nonlinear factors effect on internal force of side tower, and main girder stress are researched. The results show cable sag effect is larger than large displacement and beam-column for girder upper stress, and the sag effect is 16% on the average at the mid of the main span. The nonlinear effect on bending moments is larger than stress and axial force for side tower. The full nonlinear effect on bending moments is only -3.7%, but less than 1% on stress and axial force.

Abstract: Brick wall collapses contributing to occupational fatalities constantly happen to construction-related workers. The number of workers involved in brick wall collapse accidents is more than that in other accident types. The brick wall collapse accidents accounted for 93% of the structure collapse cases, and about 64% of brick wall collapse cases are in connection with demolition of brick walls. In order to find out the major risks of demolition of brick walls, this article examines occupational accident statistics and case reports from the Northern Region Inspection Office of the Council of Labor Affairs of Taiwan. Discontinuous Deformation Analysis (DDA) is employed to discuss the collapse behavior for demolition of brick walls. A procedure during the demolition of brick walls is suggested for the purpose of safety.

Abstract: This paper presented a case analysis of debris flow hazards and its mitigation works. The Xianbuleng Gully which is located in Jinchuan County, Sichuan Province was selected as study area. This gully is an old debris flow gully which once burst out many debris flow disasters in history. If debris flows occur again in this gully, the township government, the center school and 13 village houses nearly 300 persons on the alluvial fan will be exposed to great risk. The environment settings and the hazard characteristics of the Xianbuleng debris flow were introduced first in this paper. Then, mitigation works especially the drainage canal under the optimal hydraulic condition were planned and designed in the gully for decreasing the debris flow hazards.

Abstract: In step with body Ⅱ, analytic solution and illustration of elastic energy releasing amount of rock mass dynamic destabilization are given for the first time in the form of precise and approximate catastrophe model. It is upgraded from qualitative understand to quantitative description that study on rock stability at the stage before and after earthquake and rockburst. The halting point’s position of rock mass dynamic destabilization is ascertained strictly, and it offers scientific basis for the calculation on earthquake efficiency, the study on earthquake energy magnitude released, earthquake stress drop, fault offset after earthquake and amount of elastic strain recovery of surrounding rock. The system possesses the capability of applying work to surroundings when it destabilizes, and earthquake wave energy is the work that destabilizing rock system applies to surroundings by way of destructive. The given illustration of elastic energy releasing amount implicates wealth of information, it produces credible evidence for confirming that the mathematical abstract of rock dynamic destabilization is fold catastrophe model.

Abstract: On 15 July, 2010, a landslide occurred at Guantianba in Hengjiang Town, Suijiang County, Yunnan Province, which is located on the right bank of Jinshangjiang River in Xiangjiaba Reservoir area; it destroyed several houses in this region, causing 8 families (about 30 residents) homeless, The slide is affected by the combined effects of the heavy downpour, sudden load at the rear of the landslide, excavation vibration and the overuse of plantation. With the first water storage of Xiangjiaba Reservoir in May this year, the landslide is very likely to slide again, so a detailed field geology survey has been done, some obvious deformation characteristics of the landslide were found. Based on field investigations and laboratory studies, this paper discusses the factors that affected slope stability of Guantianba and suggests that some monitoring and remedial measures should be taken to protect the wealth and life of residents. Through the analysis on the causes and stability evaluation of the Guantianba landslide, it provides certain reference value on the similar soil slope stability analysis in Xiangjiaba Reservoir area.

Abstract: Acquiring instant information and sharing massive data are indispensable elements in social informatization. Real-time monitoring is realized with the support of computer and communication technologies. The monitoring facilities which are controlled by communication network terminal computers would collect and transfer data according to established procedures or real-time instructions. That is, data could be acquired under all weather and no duty conditions. Then the acquired massive data could be widely shared by issuing on Internet Web. This whole procedure is called real-time monitoring. Demonstration station for real-time monitoring and prewarning is just used to issue monitoring instructions, collect and transfer real-time data through GPRS wireless network between local monitoring stations and central station on the basis of computer and modern communication technologies. So the monitoring data elements could be gathered on central station server computer through communication network, and then be Web published and shared through the connection of central station sever computer and the Internet. Thus, informatization for landslides monitoring could be realized, and information could be optimally utilized. The geologic hazard monitoring and prewarning demonstration station in Wushan County was a good example of real-time monitoring and data Web sharing for landslides, which has greatly improved the level of geologic hazard monitoring and prewarning in China.

Abstract: By the indoor specimen and model experiment of soil slope, the real-time data of temperature and moisture content in various depths is obtained under certain slope rate, initial moisture content, temperature and boundary conditions. The result shows that, under extreme snow weather in South China, variation of the temperature field is closely related with rain infiltration, the temperature of the region which the rain infiltration reaches is reduces obviously.
