Study on Deformation Characteristics of Dark-Brown Weathered Basalt Soil in Guizhou

Article Preview

Abstract:

There is the dark-brown weathered basalt soil widely distributed along the slope surface of highway in Guizhou and its settlement is obvious under rainfall, which threatens the slope stability, while due to insufficient systematic study on its deformation characteristics, it hinders the highway’s construction in this region. The influence of its water content and dry density is studied by the standard consolidation test both of undisturbed soil and remolded soil under different water content and dry density conditions and its compression coefficient and rebound index are obtained, which provides a reference for slope stability analysis.
