Abstract: How to use the waste heat deeply are a critical issue for BCHP (Building combined cooling heating and power) system. A BCHP system with a soil source absorption heat pump driven by the waste heat is proposed. The system is composed of an internal combustion engine, a soil source absorption heat pump driven by the flue gas, and other assistant facilities, such as pumps, fans, and end user devices. In the winter, the flue gas is used to drive absorption heat pump to recover the waste heat of the soil source and the condensation heat of the flue gas simultaneously, and in the summer, the waste heat of the flue gas is used to drive absorption heat pump to cooling, and the heat sink is the soil. In the paper, the configuration of this kind of system is designed, and the energy analysis of the system is done all the year. Compared with the conventional BCHP system, the operation cost is lowered greatly and the increased investment could be returned within one year. It is show that the system is the efficient integration of cleaning energy, renewable energy, the discharge of the flue gas could be reduced to below 30°C, and the water steam could be catch to avoid the white smoke of the stack. The energy saving in space heating could be 66% compared with the conventional BCHP systems.

Abstract: Building envelope on high-rise office buildings have an important role of energy consumed. There are many methods and techniques that can be used to achieve this goal through energy efficiency for building envelope in the tropic area. The use of glass material becomes one of the alternatives that offer a more attractive appearance. Although the double skin facades (DSF) has been widely applied, but research on the thermal performance and behavior of the wind is still scarce for the tropics, so it is interesting to note related to energy conservation. To obtain a clear picture of the heat transfer and airflow, the research was conducted on the two office buildings with the same orientation and location but they were different on the building envelope. The study was conducted by the field measurements and simulation using CFD-ACE + software, to determine the performance of the heat transfer and behavior of airflow in the double skin facades. The results indicate that the role of wind on the design building envelope has an influence on the heat transfer and energy savings. Key words: wind, double skin facade, heat transfer, CFD, energy

Abstract: In order to analysis influence on indoor thermal environment with surface boundary which are the first boundary condition and the second boundary condition under the average temperature distributed hourly of the outdoor air, indoor thermal environment model of single architectural with air conditioning was established, and the indoor thermal environment was simulated by the CFD software. The results show that, there is a little influence between the two kinds of surface boundary conditions, and the two kinds of surface boundary conditions could be considered as equivalent.

Abstract: The window glass ignition temperature is one of the main factors that determine the Heat Release Rate (HRR) of passenger rail car. In order to reveal the influence of window glass ignition temperature on the HRR of China Railways High-speed (CRH) passenger rail car, the HRR, ignition temperature and other thermal parameters of the individual materials and component assemblies of the CRH passenger rail car, are measured with the Cone Calorimeter, burning temperature tester and other instruments, as the input parameters of Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), and according to the different window glass ignition temperatures ,4 fire scenarios have been designed to obtain the HRR vs. time curves of CRH passenger rail car. The comparison results show that the window glass ignition temperature exerts a significant influence on the HRR of passenger rail car; if the ignition temperature is lower than 415°C, during the fire process the windows near the ignition source will be broken, and the back draft phenomenon will take place, resulting in the extremely high second peak HRR, about 22.6MW; if the ignition temperature is higher than 470°C, during the fire process all the windows will not be broken; and so it is suggested that the window glass ignition temperature in the passenger rail car should be higher than 520°C.

Abstract: Considering topographic map is a basic material of planning and design in Civil and Hydraulic engineering. A method of making contour map without compromising the precision was proposed by extracting elevation data based on Google Earth by programming and generating contours using ArcGIS. Meanwhile it indicates specific means of contours optimization and coordinate system conversion. By analyzing and comparing the topographic map accuracy with an example, the result shows the method is feasible and has reasonable application value.

Abstract: The demand for need of groundwater goes with descending powers, when compared with the available natural resources to meet the expectations of Agricultural, Municipal and Industrial needs. Consequently, groundwater is being withdrawn from storage and water levels are declining resulting in crop failures, seawater intrusion in coastal aquifers, land subsidence etc. This urges the need of artificial recharge of groundwater by augmenting the natural infiltration of precipitation into subsurface formation by some suitable methods of recharge. This inturns expects the quantitative availability of groundwater in the area, at the earliest, to follow suitable recharge methods. This rapid determination is found possible only when Remote Sensing and GIS approaches are applied in addition to conventional methods, where time frame is lagging. In this study, Remote Sensing and GIS approaches were used to identify groundwater potential zones in Thirumullaivasal village of Nagapattinam district of Tamilnadu. Various thematic maps were prepared for the factors that influence groundwater such as rainfall, soil type, land use, slope and geology using satellite imageries, toposheets and data from Government and other organizations. Ranks and Weightages were assigned for different categories by devising criterion table and Cumulative Suitability Index (CSI) values were found out using Multi-criterion analysis of the prepared thematic maps through GIS. Based on CSI values, the area was prioritized into different groundwater potential zones for future investigation.

Abstract: With the wider use of digital technology in the scientific study, a research on small basin human settlements in the Loess Plateau is conducted with the overwhelming computational technologies to calculate and express. In this research, the small basins of Jiangjia River in the Loess Plateau, which is under a typical geographical circumstance, is taken as an example. In terms of the evaluation on the suitability of the natural environment of small basin human settlements in Jiangjia River by adopting the GIS functions, the detailed information on site selection, scale defining and village distribution characteristics is collected. Finally, this research is to figure out the principles which can control the future development and plan for small basin human settlements in the Loess Plateau gully region. Through the concrete research on the typical cases, it is concluded that the digital technology is supposed to be the universal means and approach to study the small basin human settlements in the Loess Plateau.

Abstract: Baseline estimation is one of the most important links in the data processing of GPS reference station network. Exact definition of functional model and stochastic model of baseline estimation must be required to achieve high precise baseline solutions. The effects on precision of GPS long baseline estimation of three stochastic models are analyzed and compared by computation experiments using observation data of GPS reference station network. Calculation results show that using refined stochastic model can reduce convergence time of baseline solution. For baselines about 100km long in GPS reference station network, baseline precision of float and fixed solutions can be improved about 0.10m and 3mm respectively by satellite elevations compared with standard stochastic model using 10~40 minutes’ observation data and baseline precision of float and fixed solutions can be improved about 0.15m and 5mm respectively by estimated stochastic model based on theory of stationary stochastic process compared with standard stochastic model.

Abstract: Along with the rapid development in the Internet network technology and the constant improvement in the GIS technology as well as the urgent demand for geographic information sharing and mutual operation application, WebGIS has become a hot issue in the field of the GIS application. WebGIS has made up for the traditional limitations of the GIS application, thus making GIS achieve the function of true information data sharing. In such case, it accelerates the process of informationalization of the city fundamental geography. Therefore, it has strong promotion and the application value.
