Article Preview

Abstract:

Traditional architecture is the built embodiment of a people’s cultural identity and values, and is often referenced as primary source of inspiration and standard of quality for the creation of new architectural approaches aspiring to be national. This paper is an attempt to pinpoint the essential traits that make our traditional houses specifically Romanian, and which could be employed in contemporary space-making in order to express this cultural identity.
