Abstract:

The building of culture atmosphere is one of the core goals of urban design and an important aspect in the evaluation for urban design project. Based on the interpretation and analysis for the theory of culture district, the theory of city image, and the theory of place, the paper discusses the key points and related technical routes in the building of culture atmosphere with different space location (old town and new city town) or different space level (whole city, cultural blocks and landmark nodes). The building of culture atmosphere can help to improve the quality of urban design, and enhance the city's cultural charm.
