On Surface Analysis of Settlement Landscape in Ancient Xianshi Town, Zigong City of Sichuan Province

Abstract:

The investigation into the bottom surface, side surface and top surface of settlement landscape in the ancient Xianshi Town, has been conducted in the presented work. Specially, the configuration principles of bottom surface, which use the steps, ramps as well as other optimized skills to adapt to local mountainous environment, scale and construction techniques of side surface, components and configuration principles of top surface are elaborated. The result shows that surface of settlement landscape in the ancient Xianshi Town adopted “big eave, small patio, steep slope, cold paving tile, wide doors and windows” and other geographical features, presenting multi-level visual imagery of mountainous settlement landscape.
