Abstract:

As a renowned Historic District, Harbin Dao Wai District involves great numbers of old buildings with Chinese Baroque style, especially European-style architecture. They Primarily decorate with European-style plants, Mixing with Chinese auspicious patterns, such as dragon, phoenix, unicorn, tortoise, tiger, deer, birds and so on. Can not help appreciating the perfection of combination of Chinese and Western .In this paper, an introduction of the context of landscape block in Harbin has been showed. The protected significance, updated methods and updated principle have been presented. The new eyesight on protection and utilization of Daowai characteristic building elevation in Harbin has been put forward, aiming to be worthy of reference.
