Discussion on Stability Analysis Method for Tailings Dam

Article Preview

Abstract:

The tailings dam stability is an important part in the evaluation of the tailings dam, at present setting-value evaluation is the main method through all, calculation models has failed to consider variability and inhomogeneity of many factors that can influence the stable state of tailings dam, which make the calculation results that can not comprehensively reflect the actual status and stability of tailings dam. The analytical method of reliability based on probability theory, mathematical statistics and operational research, not longer use a specific safety coefficient to measure the stability of the slope, instead define the instability of the slope as a probability result. With the increasingly wide range of applications and the rapid development of analytical method of reliability in engineering practice, and this method will eventually become a tailings dam stability evaluation method.
