Abstract: The problem of population aging is very severe in China; in-home healthcare of the elderly has become an urgent important topic. Wireless sensor networks in many areas have been applied widely, the purpose of this work is to construct wireless healthcare network by using the ZigBee communication technology, and to achieve the real-time localization for healthcare of the elderly. The indoor data acquisition and simulation analysis show that this wireless sensor network has the characteristics of easy to construct and high precision localization. This study to promote the elderly healthcare has positive effect.

Abstract: In order to balance energy consumption and save energy as the starting point, an algorithm of LEACH–GAE protocol based on energy balance is put forward for LEACH protocol improvement ,which combined with genetic algorithm and ant colony in view of the problem of LEACH in choosing its cluster head selection, cluster heads and base station communication deficiencies. The simulation results show that LEACH-GAE protocol can effectively balance the energy consumption and prolong the network life cycle.

Abstract: The ant colony optimization algorithm is good at solving multidimensional optimization problem. The allocation of power resource of a node in wireless sensor networks should make the detection performance of the whole network maximum, which is complex due to the detection probability of the whole system cannot be expressed explicitly. Therefore, continuous ant colony system (CACS) is adopted to optimize the allocation of each node’s power between sensing and communications. The results show that it can lead to a good power allocation. At the same time, the scheme that all sensor nodes have identical power assignment can achieve nearly the same detection performance as compared that achieved by the best scheme searched by CACS. As a result, particu-larly for a large number of sensors, an identical power allocation scheme for each node can be employed to achieve nearly the best detection performance.

Abstract: Monitoring systems can take scientific measurements related to the impact on the environment. In order to attain these first hand measurements from monitored environment, a Reliable Wireless Senor Network Multi Path Routing Scheme (RWMRS) is proposed. Simulation shows that RWMRS scheme can prolong sensor network lifetime by 14.2%, and increase data delivery ratio by 12.1%, which provide better service for environmental monitoring system.

Abstract: The onboard video surveillance/CCTV system and the concept of calibration have been analyzed. The simplified Differential Time of Arrival localization method (D-ToA) has been proposed and applies to the calibration of the video sensor nodes. The experiment results show that the D-ToA has a good accuracy and satisfies the requirements of the calibration of the video sensor nodes.

Abstract: This work applies decision tree analysis to construct a classification sensor for Taiwan’s diagnosis related groups (Tw-DRGs) of medical specialties. Inpatient expenses of 2009 in a national health insurance database were transformed to the SQL database analytic software for analysis and classification. DRG code is selected by the principal diagnosis code with the operating room procedures code. Selecting the combinations in accordance with National Health Insurance inpatient diagnostic related groups TW-DRG Classification Manual, resulting in repeated DRG codes. The study analyzes three medical classifications of Tw-DRGs implementations on 2009 to solve the DRG code appropriate attribution issues. Appropriateness and accuracy of the DRG code is an important influence to the medical payments. The results found that decision tree can effectively and quickly establish the DRG classification process.

Abstract: Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) reduces the amount of signaling overhead between the Mobile Node (MN) and its Correspondent Node (CN) by introducing a mobility anchor point (MAP). However, handling both intra-domain handovers and tunneling traffic for MNs may cause a single point overload. In this paper, we present a MAP (Mobile Anchor Point) selection scheme based on Multi-attribute Decision Making (MADM). In our proposed scheme, the Pref and Dist in MAP option message are used as two attributes of MAP, and MN can set different weights for these two attributes according its velocity. After testing, it indicates this scheme can handle high level MAP overload and achieve better communication performance.

Abstract: In order to adapt to low-voltage operating of the Gilbert CMOS integrated mixer, a novel mixer is researched which with floating gate amplify transistor and a few stack from the power supply to the ground. The mixer had some advantages that are avoided the input DC voltage imbalance and suppressed 1/ f noise. The mixing feasibility is confirmed by time domain simulation, and the mixing output signal quality is analyzed by spectrum simulation. The results show that the mixer output main spectrum is the difference for various frequency input signal. The main-spectrum is more than 6dB with three order inter-modulation interference amplitude.

Abstract: An improved Ant Colony Optimization based RWA algorithm and its application in optical network wavelength converter allocation strategy is given. The link idle rate is introduced as new constraint along with the random perturbation to prevent searching converged into unexpected local optimum. Theoretical and simulation shows the improved algorithm has better blocking probability and resources utilization performance.

Abstract: This paper introduced a scheme of BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) carrier synchronization based on all digital Costas loop. The principle and implementation of every module used in Costas loop were demonstrated in detail and some of them were optimized to shorten the carrier recovering time. The functional simulation with the ModelSim shows the digital Costas loop works well and its carrier synchronization could be reached in only several cycles. The proposed Costas loop are implemented in FPGA chip and verified by Altera built-in SignalTap logic analyzer. For the implementation with Altera Cyclone IV EP4CE115F29C7N chip, the entire digital Costas loop only occupies a very small part of FPGA resources.
