Water Pollution Characteristics and Treatment Countermeasures: A Case Study in Fuxin River, China

Abstract:

Water quality of Fuxin basin exceeds the water quality standards significantly; water quality fist decreases then increases in general; previous measures done has better effect, but water quality of Shazhuang Bridge section still has a great distance to Class III water quality standard. In the studied region, pollution from domestic sewerage has largest pollution load contribution with the proportion of 49.15% and livestock manure takes second place with the proportion of 20.52%. Pollution source inside the basin is the major influencing factor. The results show that incoming flow is retarded and tail water doesn’t have a good fate are the primary non-reaching standard reasons for Shazhuang Bridge section.
