Study on Uranium Occurrences of Sandstone-Type Uranium Deposit in Bayanwula Area, Erlian Basin, Inner Mongolia

Abstract:

It is a breakthrough exploratory area about sandstone-type uranium deposit of Bayanwula area in Erlian basin, Inner Mongolia, a detailed study of the form of occurrences . Ore-bearing horizon is the down cretaceous Saihan formation in Bayanwula area. Study on uranium occurrences which is significance for Uranium mining smelting.The host rocks are gray silt - fine sandstone, gray medium - fine sandstone, yellow medium - fine sandstone . The EPMA(electron probe microanalysis) results show that the uranium minerals are mainly pitchblende, coffinite, uranyl-carbonate, uranothorite, isomorphous uranium and uranium bearing phosphate. among which, the uranothorite and isomorphous uranium are of no industrial significance, uranium mineralization closely occurs with pyrite, ilmenite, quartz, feldspar, rare earth and organic matter.
