Model Test on Disruptive Mode of Sandy Soil

Article Preview

Abstract:

Based on similarity theory, the paper has studied the strip foundation the disruptive mode and the load bearing mechanism. One model test has been designed to simulate the sandy soil foundation entire process begin to deform until to destruct. The diversity place earth pressure and the distribution rule have been analyzed, and shear belt formation and the developing process has been observed. The results show that the model test could reflect the ground deformation to destruction entire process, the subsidence distortion characteristic, the foundation stress distribution, the destruction shape and mechanism, which will be an effective way in studying the foundation disruptive mode and the load bearing mechanism.
