Comparative Study on Space Morphology of Modern Colonial Style Center Districts, China

Abstract:

This paper selects typical center districts were colony in China’s modern history as cases,and then comparing these centers’ space morphology using both quantitative and qualitative ways from four aspects: common characteristics, land development strength characteristics, land-use structure characteristics, road-network structure characteristics. Author analysis the similarities of these center districts that they always adjacent to the traffic hub, form commercial aggregation mode and have more clear road structure . Author analysis the differences of these center districts that they could form different modes in the four aspects above. This paper finds out these laws, for supporting the further construction guidance of colonial style center district.
