Gear-shape error is the key factor to effect driving stability. A analysis on the common gear cutting error processed in hobbing is made, and then the specific reasons for gear-shape error are presented. Finally, the strategies to eliminate the gear-shape error and promote the accuracy of gear machining are gave.
