Abstract: Shot peening is a manufacturing process intended to give components the final shape and to introduce a compressive residual state of stress inside the material in order to increase fatigue life. The modeling and simulation of the residual stress field resulting from the shot peening process are proposed. The behaviour of the peened target material is supposed to be elastic plastic with bilinear characteristics. The results demonstrated the surface layer affected by compressive residual stresses is very thin and the peak is located on the surface.

Abstract: Aiming at the path sudden change and inconsistent turning of virtual vehicles in visual simulation system for bridge cranes, forklifts virtual paths are created by using path and navigator modules in Lynx interface based on the application principles of path and navigator in Vega software. Then, forklifts visual paths are edited to ensure the natural and fluent movements of forklifts by choosing spline navigator, setting smaller smoothing threshold and smaller spline tension parameters in Path Tool. Finally, combining working cycle requirements of loading and unloading goods for bridge cranes, continuous motions of several forklifts are realized by calling the path navigation library functions of Vega Software in VC++. Therefore, virtual vehicles complex paths are created and disadvantages of fixed path for virtual vehicles in visual simulation system are solved.

Abstract: In this paper introducing the application of the software 3DS MAX in the designing of the truss welding equipments first, in order to state that this kind software not only can illustrate the project of the designing of the complex truss welding equipment well, but it also can demonstrate every movement of the welding equipment directly, and we can amend the project in time, furthermore we can get some references for our designing from this method in the post-design. It is also a good method for designing the general machineries.

Abstract: in this paper, the concepts of modelling, simulation, verification and validation are described in order to analyse their necessities in electric ship propulsion system simulation. Traditional verification and validation methods are outlined before a new method based on expert theory and verification and validation methods of software testing is proposed to verify if the simulation program meets customers needs and respective software protocols, according to the characteristics of electric ship propulsion system.

Abstract: For the buoy being launched in the sea, the cost of great number of experiments is very high. It is difficult to get an overall understanding of the process. Aiming at the problems, the visualization of the entire process was realized. Based on Multigen Creator, the three-dimensional models of submarine, buoy, airbag and sleeves were built. Combined simulation program in Vega Prime, the trajectory of the buoy was simulated. In the process of simulation, the viewing angle of the target could be switched for full range of observations. The interaction between users and the simulation system made the relevant person to conveniently and intuitively observe and assess the status of buoys being operated.

Abstract: The rapid real-time collision detection is one of technical difficulties in large-scale simulation of complex dynamic scenes. Complex large-scale real-time scenario, demands of users on the efficiency and the accuracy of collision detection is higher and higher, which has made it become the subject of people to study. Based on the domestic and foreign existing collision detection algorithm, improved the process of collision detection framework, designed and implemented parallel collision detection with method of SIMD technology and multithreading programming, and made combination of these used in the collision detection of complex and dynamic scenes. Experimental results show that the algorithm design made the object in large and complex space of the 3D scene could be achieved real-time simulation. And the method solved the graphic images of moving objects and undetected penetration phenomena, shorten the detection time and response time of the collision for deformation object, increased the realism and immersion.

Abstract: Extra-heavy oil, polymer solution and some drilling fluids are typical non-Newtonian Herschel-Bulkley fluids, which behave as sheer-thinning with yield stress. In this paper, the Generalized Darcy's law for Herschel-Bulkley fluids flow in porous media was formulated, by the same way formulating the Generalized Darcy's Law for Bingham fluids. Then, the applications of the two type flow models were compared; Bingham type model was still widely applied due to its conciseness and relatively satisfied accuracy. In addition, the Generalized Darcys Law was revised to describe thixotropic non-Newtonian fluids conceptually.

Abstract: This paper introduces a minor drainage pump used in air-conditioning system. The numerical simulation has been done to analyze the internal flow field and sound pressure level in drainage pump. FlUENT is used in this paper. And LES (Large Eddy Simulation) is taken to catch the pressure fluctuation in this flow passage. CFD results show that pressure fluctuation is the main sound source in the pump.

Abstract: Apart from the convergence of the first-order hyperbolic partial differential equations in rheological flow, this paper estimate the general behavior of the solution. By analyzing the coupled partial differential equations on a macroscopic scale the solution of free surface flow has been obtained. Its asymptotic estimate of the solution and super convergence are proposed in the internal boundary layer.
