Abstract: On the basis of three-dimensional (3-D) FEM, the dam structure and base of gravity dam of Gu county reservoir is analyzed and the stress and displacement is calculated in this paper. The result indicates that a majority of dam is in the stress state and stress concentration exits in dam heel, the dam subjected to a lot on temperature load and has a larger compressive stress in dam heel while temperature raising and a larger first tensile stress when temperature drops down. The stress is small owing to transverse joint.

Abstract: RCC warehousing transportation is always one of the keys factors confined rapid concrete construction. By analyzing several transport mechanical properties commonly used in the RCC dam construction, this paper cites various possible combination plans of warehousing transportation machines in practical construction, chooses reasonable combination plan playing an important role in the construction schedule, project quality and cost control of RCC dam construction.

Abstract: The auxiliary dam of the upper reservoir of Baoquan pumped storage power station is filled with rock-filled concrete, which accelerates the schedule of construction, shortens the duration, reduces investment, and guarantees the quality of the construction effectively. This is the first application of rock-filled concrete in dam filling in hydraulic engineering, and it develops a new technology of using rock-filled concrete to fill dam, which provides valuable experience in the diversity and rationality of hydraulic engineering construction.

Abstract: The concrete face rockfill dam has a strong ability to adapt to the terrain and geological conditions, which is a good choice of dam type for easy construction, short constructed period, safe and good shock resistance. Therefore, the study of stress and deformation in the completion date, normal water level and rapid drawdown is of very important in significance. In this paper, a face rockfill dam is studied by the finite element method.

Abstract: Three-dimensional (3-D) model of the real terrain is established to see the panel stress and deformation during different periods of the concrete face rock-fill dam (CFRD). Goodman element numerical simulation is adopted in the panel and contact surface. The analysis process can better reflect the stress and deformation distribution of the panel. This research provides an important theory basis for the practical engineering design.

Abstract: Taking the FEA of a 100m high asphalt concrete core dam on 120m deep overburden layers as an example, this paper discusses the stress and deformation characteristics of the high asphalt concrete core dam on thick moraine cover foundation, to provide reference for other similar projects. The calculation results show that there is obviously core arching effect in earth-rock dams with asphalt concrete core, and this effect will be weaken after water impoundment; the asphalt concrete core can adapt the deformation of the foundation freely. This paper also discusses the stress and deformation of the core of asphalt concrete core dam when water level fluctuation.

Abstract: The earth-rock dam on left bank of the head of DJIPLOHO Hydroelectric Power Station adopts the clay core dam. Due to the tropical oceanic climate which is hot and rainy, the soil of clay core wall has high water content. Through the compaction experiment on site, it chooses suitable dry density, formulates reasonable rolling parameters and finally achieves good construction quality, which ensures the construction progress and meets the requirement of engineering. This accumulates valuable experience for the design and construction of same types engineering.

Abstract: The scheduling of a hydrothermal power system needs to take into account multiple economic, social and environmental criteria, such as power production, flood protection and control, water supply for agricultural, industrial and domestic uses, navigation, water quality control, ecological environment protection, fishery, recreation, and pollutant emission control. In addition, determination of the scheduling must involve the participation of various stakeholders. Hence, this paper proposes a framework for multi-criteria evaluation of the scheduling of a hydrothermal power system based on group decision making using analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The AHP is used to select a balanced scheduling scheme out of a number of alternatives through performing pairwise comparisons according to judgments of the decision group members.

Abstract: Creep property of coarse-grained soil is an important property influencing long-term settlement of embankment. Based on the H-K creep model which is consistent with the experimental results and verified by uniaxial compression creep test, relationship between fine grain composition and creep parameter and pattern of creep property of sandy slate coarse-grained soil influenced by fine grain composition are studied. It turns out that fine particle content is the important factor that affects creep property of sandy slate coarse-grained soil and using fine particle content of 30% is able to decrease long-term settlement of embankment.

Abstract: Rock nature is mainly controlled by joint-fissur, the stability of rock slope is mainly controlled by the joint surface, the destruction of the slope caused wedge instability formed by joint plane cutting. Stereographic projection can analyze simply and intuitively spatial association relations of straight line and plane in geological body, judge high-cutting slope stability and decisive factor of judge stability of high-cutting slope by means of direction and tendency relationship of rock slope and structural plane. This paper uses stereographic projection to analyze and judge high-cutting slope stability formed by artificial mechanical excavation in Qingxi, and decisive factor of stability according to deformation and fracture and the trends in the high-cutting slope regional, puts forward the high-cutting slope control measures and methods to ensure slope stability and security.
