The Design of Screw Extrusion Mechanism Based on Melted Extrusion Modeling

The quality of prototype manufactured with the method of Melted Extrusion Modeling was affected directly by screw extrusion mechanism’s performance, especially, the design of screw is an important part, the optimization of parameter and structure of the screw could improve the efficiency of extrusion mechanism and quality of the prototype. According to extrusion theory and existed experience, every parameter of the screw was exhaustively designed and the slot deep upheaval screw was designed to have three zones: feed zone, compression zone and metering zone, also it was deeply analyzed and proved that it could increase the flux of the screw extrusion machine, besides the flux was well-proportioned. The nozzle structure was designed at the same time. System control was realized by the aid of machining center.
