Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg-12Gd-2Y-0.5Zr Alloy

Article Preview

Abstract:

The microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-12Gd-2Y-0.5Zr alloy have been studied. The results showed that the alloy mainly consists of α-Mg matrix, Mg5Gd and Mg24Y5. With the increase of temperature, the tensile strength of the alloy first increases and then decreases, and the peak value appears at 250°C. The elongation increases as the temperature increases.
