Feasibility Analysis of the Utilization of Passive Filter to Suppress Harmonic Overvoltage Caused by Inrush Current

Article Preview

Abstract:

The feasibility analysis of the utilization of passive filter to suppress harmonic overvoltage caused by inrush current is proposed in this paper, against the grid of a Tibetan region in southwest China. Firstly, the author analyzes the risk of the overvoltage due to the excitation inrush current and proposes the design principle of the passive filter resonant frequency and the reactive power capacity under the risk. Finally, in this paper, the effect of the filter is checked with PSCAD software.
