Control of Cascaded H-Bridge STATCOM for Load Compensation

Article Preview

Abstract:

The math model of cascaded H-bridge static synchronous compensators (STATCOM) of star configuration is described firstly in this paper. Based on the math model, an advanced control method is proposed, in which all control variables are dc, which are suitable for getting no steady-state errors using simple PI controllers. The simulation results demonstrate the validity of this method, and the experiment results are specially presented to verify the fast response under dynamic process.
