A NPR Technique of Many Pieces Rendering

Abstract:

To provide with an effective method for non-photorealistic rendering for computer generated images with artistic appearances from 2D images motivates our work in this paper. The methods proposed in this paper are inspired by the many pieces synthesis mosaic effects. In this paper, we mainly propose the method for generating the artistic appearances based on the pieces synthesis and color tranfer technique. The block pieces can be chosen from arbitrary quantity images in the database. First, to accelerate synthesis speed, the mosaic effect can be generated based on the luminance channel. Further, we establish our method for obtaining RGB appearances taking the color transfer as the underlying basis. Therefore, the color of input image can be rendered to the final mosaic artistic effects. Experimental results show that our methods are effective and efficient.
