Review on Study of Fire Behavior of Bridges in China

Article Preview

Abstract:

In recent years, numerous bridges have been damaged seriously even destroyed by fire hazards in China. Fires in bridges can result in significant losses of life and property, as well as traffic jam. Therefore, fire hazard in bridges is becoming a growing concern in the whole life cycle of design, construction, use and maintenance. There are few literatures on bridge fire incidents and research data in developed countries. In this paper, several typical bridge hazards in China shall be introduced firstly. Some research progress on bridge fire in China is described secondly. Critical research needs and are pointed lastly. The authors hope this paper may be a useful reference for people who hope to learn about the situation and research progress of bridge fires in China.
