Abstract:

This paper discusses on the protection significance, contents and principles of ancient architecture in China, and reveals current protection problems. By taking the Ming and Qing dynasty’ street in River town in Xiaochang for example, it is analyzes the local protection attitudes and principles. The ultimate purpose of the article is to show the protecting importance of ancient architecture, and discuss the general protection method.
