Research on the Transmission Characteristics of FitzHugh-Nagumo Neuron

Article Preview

Abstract:

The transmission characteristics of a FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) model neuron influenced by Gaussian white noise is studied in this work. With a sinusoidal stimulus as input, based on the time-domain analysis to the output , it is found that there are SR phenomenon, and the signal transmission is mainly depends on the noise intensity, the frequency and the amplitude of the external excitation signals. The analysis show that when the input frequency lies in 0.2Hz~0.5Hz and the amplitude A is around 0.4, suitable noise intensity is conducive to the optimal neuronal signal transmission.
