Stress Analysis for Globoidal Indexing Cam Mechanism with Steel Ball

Abstract:

This paper presents stress analysis for globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball, and stress model of each component is established. Globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball is made up of globoidal cam, indexing plate and steel ball. The mechanism can realize approximate rolling transmission. Stress is analyzed for globoidal cam, indexing plate and steel ball at dell and indexing period respectively. According to rotary transform tensor theory stress in different coordinate system is obtained to build static equilibrium equations for steel ball conveniently. Axial force, radial force and peripheral force for globoidal cam and indexing plate are reached.
