Study of Slurry Configuration and Circulation Issue of Large Diameter Bored Pile at Sea
Abstract:
The large diameter bored pile has the advantage of large bearing capacity, large rigidity, highly construction speed as well as saving cost, of which many large bridges have adopted to basically meet the foundation construction of deep water. China’s coastline extends for about 18,000 kilometers, and covers a large area of the sea area with a large number of islands inshore. The cross-sea bridge has become the basic form to connect the islands and land. Therefore, the large diameter bored pile could be widely use in the future. Because of the construction particularity at the sea, like the changeable maritime climate, hurricane wave, tidal variation and the characteristics of the sea water will bring the risk to construction and increase the construction difficulty. Thus there are a lot of technology problems to be solved, It is necessary to go in deep study because the slurry is the most crucial step of the bored pile which will influence most of the construction quality. This paper combines the example of Jiuzhou Channel Bridge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge to discuss the Slurry Configuration and Circulation Issue of the large diameter bored pile at the sea, and to offer the proportion of the slurry yield and fresh water mud, and also studies the circulation system of slurry, which used the Cyclone slag separator to separate the slurry, and achieved the expected effect, thus provides the available experience to the later construction.
