Influence of Surface Preparation on Bond Performance of Externally-Bonded FRP to Concrete Interfaces

Abstract:

In this paper, the bond performance of externally-bonded FRP (EB-FRP) joints was experimentally investigated by employing the single shear pull-off test on three EB-FRP specimens with different surface preparation. Experimental testing is reported for performance of the interfacial bond of the EB-FRP joints. The test results indicate the importance of careful specimen preparation as the failure mode can be significantly affected.
