Research on the Influence of Overlying Water pH to the Sediment Release
Abstract:
The results are shown that: When the overlying water pH is 7.0, the least impact of nitrogen, phosphorus and organic matter release in sediment. Under the neutral condition, after sediment release in deionized water NH3-N concentration was 1.86 mg.L-1, TP was 0.09 mg.L-1, COD was 22.2 mg.L-1 . In the nature water sediment release experiment, compared with no adjustment of pH the NH3-N emissions reduce by 9.4%, the sediment adsorbs TP from water increases 2.3 times. Through a period of a month typical lake quality monitoring found that there is presence of sediment NH3-N release into the overlying water and sediment adsorb TP from the overlying water.
