Study of Railway Passenger Flow Forecasting Based on Season Index

Abstract:

Accurate and timely analysis of passenger flow can provide decision support for railway transport enterprises to make reasonable arrangement and adjustment of passenger lines operating plan. Through the observation of the month’s passenger flow variation, season index method was proposed to forecasts passenger flow. Then we gives a specific example to forecast passenger flow combined with the exponential smoothing and seasonal index method, based on the analysis of data and the influence of external factors. Finally, this paper specifies the application prospect of this method, in order to play a guiding role in the actual work.
